Unfortunately for us, by the time we visited Korea (12 April 2014), we missed the optimal full bloom period even though the recommended period of visit was 3 - 13 April 2014. So the pro tip will be to visit Korea, or more specifically Yeouido Spring Flower Festival, during the first few days of the full bloom season. (Directions there can be found below)
But just because some of the cherry blossoms have already wilted / dropped, doesn't mean it's not worth a visit!
Once we exited from the train station, we simply walked a straight path towards Yeouido Park, it was approximately 10 mins away. Yeouido Park is actually located next to the Han River, so if you're feeling particularly romantic, why not have a little picnic there? You can also grab some food from the stalls that lined the streets.
It's a very peaceful and idyllic place to visit really, the weather was chilly and there's a certain kind of peace and joy in simply strolling through the park and admiring the cherry blossoms.

It's not uncommon for some to plan their Korea trip around this flower festival, so if you're wondering if it is worth a trip down, the answer is a definite yes. But of cos, it will be more ideal to drop by here during the first few days of the full bloom. So be sure to research on the approximate date of the festival before your trip!
