The rainbow cake cost $7 per slice and it is rather a big slice that is best shared. The rainbow cake unfortunately disappoints, it is best described as a glorified sponge cake. It was too heavy and cloying and the pretty colours are its only redeeming factor.
Our desserts |
We ordered another dessert too, it's called Chate Briante, which we all agreed tasted better than the Rainbow Cake. It is actually a chocolate mousse cake enclosed in a hardened chocolate exterior, with a thin layer of banana spread / jam in between.
Two types of Rainbow Cakes available. |
Look at all these desserts! |
Even though the Rainbow Cake disappoints, I think that this little cafe is still worth a second shot. I will like to try their Green Tea Mousse cake (top left corner) and more of their chocolate desserts next time. For a cafe named after chocolate, it is a shame that the Rainbow Cake is the most popular item on their menu, when there are other better (chocolate) options!
